Studies in: Ambylopia (2014-2016)

Studies in: Amblyopia is a photographic body of work as well as a multi-media installation that explores the reciprocal relationship between vision and photography, inspired by the artist’s visual disorder of the same name. Amblyopia is a condition in which the vision in one of the eyes is reduced because the eye and the brain are not working together properly. The two-channel video installation for Studies in Amblyopia highlights this idea of binocular vision and fusion, creating a visual experience for the viewer from a visual process. The images are created through multiple exposures by blocking off the left and right portions of the frame in camera to echo the disrupted fusion of both eyes.
